MRI
(1)Please bring your previous X-ray, CT, MRI or Ultrasound films and reports for reference (if any).
(2)Inform our staff if you are or may be pregnant or if you are breast feeding.
(3)Inform our staff if you have any of the following:
Cardiac pacemakers / implantable cardiac defibrillators
Artificial cardiac valves
Orthopaedic prosthesis
Cerebral aneurysm clips
Surgical clips
Cochlear implants, neurostimulators
Dental implants or braces
Intrauterine contraceptive devices (IUCD)
Tattoos
Other metallic implants or prosthesis
Previous eye injury with possible metallic fragments
MRI Abdomen, Pelvis or MRCP Scans
(1)No food or drinks for 4 hours before the examination. Regular medications can still be taken with small amounts of plain water.
MRI Cardiac (Function/Perfusion/Viability)
(1)No coffee is allowed 12 hours before the examination, and alcoholic or caffeinated beverages such as coffee, tea, cola and chocolate should be avoided.
(2)No food or drinks for 4 hours before the examination. Regular medications can still be taken with small amounts of water.
Please take note if you are taking the following medications:
Please bring the nebulizer or inhaler you are using. If you are receiving any medication from your doctor, keep taking it as usual.
If you are taking a medicine called dipyridamole/nicorandil, stop taking it 24 hours before your scan appointment.
(3)Children or claustrophobic clients may feel anxious and scared in the process. Our radiologist can provide assistance, including allowing family-accompanied examinations and pre-arranged visits to rooms and equipment.
